The White House spokeswoman revealed that President Trump discussed the Iranian proposal with the national security team, while Tehran, through Pakistani mediators, presented a new plan focused on resolving the Strait of Hormuz crisis and lifting the US blockade while postponing nuclear talks.

White House spokeswoman Caroline Levitt confirmed on Monday that US President Donald Trump held a meeting with the national security team to discuss the latest Iranian proposal. Levitt stressed that the red lines set by the president on Iran have become very clear to American society and to the Iranian side alike. According to the US website "Axios", Iran has submitted, through Pakistani mediators, a new proposal aimed at reaching an agreement on Reopening the Strait of Hormuz and ending the US blockade, provided that the nuclear negotiations are postponed to a later stage. This proposal seeks to move beyond the current stalemate and circumvent internal disagreements within the Iranian leadership over the scope of the required nuclear concessions. US sources indicated that Trump may hold a meeting in the White House Situation Room with senior national security and foreign policy officials to discuss the stalemate in negotiations and available options The US president stressed his desire to continue the naval blockade on Iranian oil exports to force Tehran to retreat. For its part, Iran continues its diplomatic efforts, as Iranian Foreign Minister Araqchi held talks in Muscat with Omani officials that included the issue of the Strait of Hormuz, before returning to Islamabad for a second round of talks. According to informed sources, Araqchi explained to mediators from Pakistan, Egypt, Turkey and Qatar that there is no consensus within Iranian leadership on dealing with US demands. Washington is demanding that Iran suspend uranium enrichment for at least a decade and remove its stockpile of highly enriched uranium from the country. The White House had announced an upcoming meeting between Trump's envoys and Iranian officials in Islamabad, but the inconclusive Iranian position prompted Trump to cancel the trip, stressing the possibility of phone talks.
