Iraqi President Nizar Amidi issued an official decree mandating Ali Faleh al-Zaidi to form the new government, in a move aimed at ending months of political strife. Zaidi, a businessman from Dhi Qar, represents the coordination framework's bet on a new figure outside the traditional political club.

The capital, Baghdad, witnessed an official commissioning ceremony attended by senior officials, as President Nizar Amidi issued a decree assigning Ali Faleh al-Zaidi to form the new Iraqi government, in the presence of Parliament Speaker Heibat al-Halbousi and Supreme Judicial Council Chairman Faiq Zaidan. The selection of Al-Zaidi followed a crucial meeting of the Coordination Framework in Baghdad, representing a success in bridging the gap between the different factions after a difficult period of internal divisions and political stalemate that It lasted for months. Al-Zaidi, born in Dhi Qar province, is a new face in the Iraqi political scene, but he has a diverse background in management and finance. He is a member of the Iraqi Bar Association and holds a Master's degree in Finance and Banking. He currently holds the chairmanship of the Board of Directors of the National Holding Company. Al-Zaidi's career includes the chairmanship of the Board of Directors of the former Bank of the South, in addition to academic and medical positions that included the presidency of the University of the People and the Ishtar Institute medical, making it the coordinating framework's bet to introduce a new management style focused on services and investment. Under the Iraqi constitution, Zaidi now has a 30-day legal deadline to form his ministerial team and present it to the House of Representatives to win confidence, in a real test of his ability to balance the complex interests of Iraq's various components.
