Pyramids achieved a new achievement in their football career, winning the Egyptian Football Cup for the second time, after beating Z team 2-1 in the final match that took place on the floor of the Cairo International Stadium. The first half of the match saw mutual attempts by both teams, before Karim Hafez was able to open the scoring for Pyramids in the first minute of stoppage time, via a penalty kick awarded by the referee after reviewing Assistant video technology, after Abdel Rahman Al-Banoubi obstructed Moroccan midfielder Walid Al-Karti inside the penalty area. At the start of the second half, Feston Mayele, the Congolese Democrat, consolidated his team's lead with the second goal in the 57th minute, when he took advantage of a minute cross from Karim Hafez on the left side to throw it directly into the net of goalkeeper Ali Lutfi. Pyramids faced an additional challenge when his player Mustafa Abdel Raouf "Zico" received the red card in 81st minute due to his beating of Zed defender Tarek Alaa, for the team to complete the game with only ten players. Raafat Khalil succeeded in reducing the difference in favor of Z with a late goal that came in the second minute of overtime, through a strong vertical blow at close range, in which he took advantage of Mustafa Saad's spin-off, but this goal was not enough to change the course of the result. This title represents the fifth achievement in the history of Pyramids Club, after the African Champions League and the Super Cup Africa Cup of Nations and the FIFA Afro-Pacific Cup 2025, all achieved under Croatian coach Kronoslav Juricicic. The team is also currently looking to add the title of the Egyptian league for the first time in its history, as it occupies second place with 53 points, two points behind the leading Zamalek.
