Russian President Vladimir Putin received a detailed report from the commander of the Strategic Missile Forces on the successful test of the Sarmat missile system. Putin stressed that this system represents the most powerful missile system in the world, with a combat capability four times greater than its Western counterparts.
In an important military development, Russian President Vladimir Putin received, last Tuesday, a comprehensive briefing from the commander of the Russian strategic missile forces, Sergei Karakayev, on the results of recent tests of the "Sarmat" strategic missile system. During the meeting, which took place through video communication technology, the Russian president listened to precise details about the stages of the test and its positive results, as Karakaev confirmed the success of all technical stages to experiment in accordance with predetermined criteria. In important statements, Putin announced that the Sarmat system occupies an exceptional position as the most powerful strategic missile system in the world, pointing out that the total combat capacity of this missile is four times greater than that of similar Western systems. Technically, the Russian president revealed that the Sarmat missile has an operational range of more than 35 thousand kilometers, which gives it superior tactical capabilities, especially since it is able to fly not only the traditional ballistic trajectory, but also the suborbital trajectory. Putin concluded his remarks by pointing out that the new Sarmat system is as powerful and effective as the Soviet-made Voivoda system, which is still an essential part of Russia's strategic nuclear arsenal to this day.
