Hospitals, airports, and military installations across Iran sustained severe damage from extensive Israeli airstrikes targeting strategic sites in Tehran and other provinces. The attacks led to the postponement of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei's funeral ceremonies amid escalating regional tensions.
Iranian media reports revealed that vital facilities across the country suffered severe damage as a result of a series of airstrikes carried out by Israel, targeting strategic locations in the capital Tehran and other provinces.
Official Iranian television reported that two hospitals in Khuzestan province in southwestern Iran were severely damaged by pressure waves from nearby explosions: the Razi Medical Center in Ahvaz and Imam Ali Hospital in Andimeshk.
The strikes also targeted Mehrabad Airport west of Tehran, with circulated images showing fires breaking out around the airport perimeter. Iranian sources indicated that the disruptions at the airport were among the reasons that led to postponing the funeral ceremonies for Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
For its part, the Israeli military announced conducting a series of concentrated airstrikes targeting what it described as vital sites in Iran, including an underground ballistic missile storage facility and a military university affiliated with Iran's Revolutionary Guard.
This military escalation comes within the framework of rising tensions in the region over the past week, as Israel and the United States carried out extensive strikes inside Iranian territory. The accuracy of all reports could not be independently verified as of yet.
