Sisi heads to Nicosia for Arab-European summit

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi leaves Cairo for the Cypriot capital Nicosia to participate in an important consultative meeting that brings together leaders of Arab countries with European Union officials. The meeting aims to discuss current geopolitical developments and enhance the prospects for joint cooperation between the two regions.

President Abdelfattah ElSisi left the Egyptian capital Cairo for an official one-day visit to Nicosia, to participate in a strategic meeting that brings together leaders from Arab countries with senior officials in the European Union. The participation of the Egyptian President in this high-level meeting came at the kind invitation of his Cypriot counterpart Nicos Christodoulides, in addition to Antonio Costa, President of the European Council, as announced by Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy Spokesperson for the Presidency of the Republic. This meeting comes within the framework of continuous and constructive consultation between the countries of the Arab region and the European Union, especially in light of the rapid geopolitical developments taking place in the region and the world, and the urgent need to coordinate positions on sensitive regional and international issues. President ElSisi is scheduled to deliver a pivotal speech during the meeting, through which he will review the comprehensive Egyptian vision to achieve calm stability at the regional and international levels, with a focus on mechanisms to enhance strategic cooperation between Arab countries and their European counterparts. The Egyptian President will also hold a series of intensive bilateral talks on the sidelines of the consultative meeting, which is expected to address the development of bilateral relations with the participating countries and discuss ways of cooperation in various areas of common interest.
