Today, Tuesday, April 28, 2026, saw the start of the new summer dates for the working hours of shops and restaurants throughout the Republic, following the end of the exceptional decision to close shops at eleven o'clock in the evening as part of the procedures to rationalize electricity consumption during the period of the Iran-US war. According to the new summer dates, shops and malls start their work daily from 7 am and lasts until 11 pm, with the possibility of extending working hours until midnight on Thursdays and Fridays, in addition to holidays and public holidays. Restaurants and cafes, including those inside malls, operate from 5 a.m. to 1 a.m. daily. Outdoor ordering and home delivery services are also allowed to continue throughout the day without interruption. Workshops and crafts are subject to Handicrafts located in residential areas for working hours from eight in the morning to seven in the evening, with the exception of workshops on main roads and gas stations or those related to emergency services for citizens, whose working hours are determined by the Higher Committee for Licensing Public Shops. The decision exempts several commercial activities from adhering to the specified closing times, including grocery stores, supermarkets and bakeries, in addition to shops of a night nature such as vegetable, fruit and poultry shops and wholesale markets, as well as pharmacies that continue to operate around the clock to ensure the availability of basic health services.
