The official Hebrew Broadcasting Corporation revealed on Tuesday evening that a phone call was held between US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, coinciding with the intensification of Israeli military operations against Lebanese territory. The call came after the end of Israel's two-and-a-half-hour security cabinet meeting, according to Channel 12. The sources did not specify The Hebrew media is the party that initiated the contact between the two leaders. Recent hours have seen a marked escalation in Israeli military operations against Lebanon, especially after Netanyahu's threats to intensify attacks against Hezbollah and deal it severe blows, amid growing fears of drone attacks. According to official statistics, 8 people were killed and at least 4 injured during Tuesday, as a result of 105 Israeli attacks targeting southern and eastern regions of Lebanon, in a widespread escalation despite the declared ceasefire. Official data indicate that the Israeli aggression against Lebanon, which has continued since March 2, has resulted in the death of 3,213 people and the injury of 9,737 others, as well as the displacement of more than a million people from their homes. In the same vein, Pakistan is leading a mediation effort between the United States and Iran to end the war that erupted on February 28 US-Israeli attacks on Iran, before reaching a temporary ceasefire on April 8, which Washington extended until early July.
